The Willapa Heritage Foundation will sponsor a vendors’ booth at the 2016 Willapa Harbor Festival August 5-7 in downtown Raymond, WA. This space will be available for local high school students to sell their art/craft work. Students need parental/guardian consent and will be responsible for handling all of their own sales. All money earned by the students is theirs to keep. Mail your application to Willapa Heritage Foundation, P.O. Box 401, South Bend, Washington 98586. Acceptance for space at the booth will be the sole decision of the Willapa Heritage Foundation board. When a student is accepted for a place at the booth, they and a parent/guardian will be asked to sign a contract detailing their responsibilities when using the booth. All decisions will be ﬁnal. The Foundation will sponsor a series of free drawing classes for teens this summer on July 12, 13, 19 and 20 at the Raymond and South Bend Timberland Libraries. Local artist Greg Bjordal will teach middle and high school teens the fundamentals of drawing. The classes are progressive, attending all is recommended but not necessary. The Willapa Heritage Foundation provides support to local artists and supports the arts in the Willapa Bay area. We promote diverse cultural and artistic enrichment programs and opportunities for our community - children and adults - to both create and enjoy art.
The Foundation has one fund raiser per year, known as Hearts for the Arts, to support our principal goals. With the money raised at this auction we support many programs in the area.

Our mission is to promote cultural and artistic enrichment in our community. We provide opportunities for members of our community to both create and enjoy art.In the last fiscal year the Foundation has given money to the Carriage House Museum, the Timberland Library’s summer-artist-in residence program, the Willapa Harbor Choral, Sunday Afternoon Live and our local schools. If you're an artist or organization providing Arts education or Arts based programming and would like to request financial assistance from the Willapa Heritage please contact us.
In the fall of 2015, we offered mini-grants of up to $25.00 for students grades 8-12 for purchase of supplies for art,craft and performing arts projects. Students receiving grants are invited to participate at our vendor's booth during the Raymond Festival Days in August 2016, or show/donate their work to Hearts for the Arts. The application for these grants has closed. The board is considering offering more of these grants. If you know a student in need, please contact us.
We offer an annual scholarship to local high school seniors who plan to pursue an Arts based degree. The scholarship is awarded at the successful completion of your first college quarter. Past awards have been made up to $1000, depending on merit and need. The application period for students enrolling for Fall term 2016 closed on April 30, 2016. Winners will be announced on class day at the school of the winning students. Good luck to all those who applied!
